Along with being a Graduate Student by night (Mondays), by day I'm an Instructional Food service Event Coordinator at Orange Coast College (OCC)!

What do I do?
I work under the Instructional wing of the Culinary Arts and Food Service Management program, planning events and teaching students how to do large events. For a school of over 20,000 students, we are never short of events from New Student Orientations to Commencement. There is always something going on.

What makes my job worth it?
I work with some fantastic students. They are passionate and caring individuals with so much personality. They are always willing to learn, and I'm still game to hear their creative ideas. They teach me something new every day. It also makes it worth it that they are culinary students. It's nice to come back from a meeting and find a plate of Texas BBQ or a slice of Chocolate cake on your desk!

Special places at OCC
Our campus is super unique in that it has so many exciting event spaces. I've had the privilege of designing events in many of these spaces! We've hosted charity shows, tech company dinners, music video shoots, birthday parties, and even weddings.
